In order to track products I’ve tried and ingredients that work (and don’t) for me, I’ll be tracking all the beauty products I’ve tried here. They’re grouped into different categories (Hair, Skincare, Makeup) and subcategories (serums, moisturizers, shampoos) and into 3 result groups (It Worked, Meh, and Stay Away). I’ll also include dates of use and notes about any reactions where possible.

The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream: Used religiously. Simple & light. Doesn’t cause any reactions and is very gentle. Aloe is the key ingredient for my sensitive and reactive skin. (2014-May 2018)

Boscia Cactus Water: Great for Spring/Summer. (July 2018-Present)


TONERS

Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion: A holy grail product. Super soothing. (2017—Present)


CLEANSERS

Kiehls Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil: Nice Scent. No reaction. (September 2017—January 2018)

Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil: Works well and isn’t that pricey. (September 2018—June 2019)

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover: The best for removing waterproof mascara. (2007—May 2018)

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil: Works well, a thinner cleansing oil. Stings the eyes. A bottle lasts about 6 months. (December 2019—Present)

The Body Shop Silky Cleansing Oil: Great but the bottle is messy. (March 2015—Present)


TREATMENTS

Clinique Even Better Skintone Correcting Lotion Broad Spectrum 20: Worked to lessen some scars post-accutane. Purchased and used as part of a skincare routine after coming off the Rx. Stopped using as I didn’t seem to see any further improvement in fading scars. (April 2014-February 2016)

Paula’s Choice Resist Ultra-Light Antioxidant Serum with Pure Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamins: Used for moisture/lightening scars. (2015—2017)

Glow Recipe Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask: Definitely can see a difference morning after. I use it as a sleeping masks. Satisfying to peels bits of exfoliated skin the morning after. Can only use this once or twice a week. (December 2017—Present)

Milk Makeup Matcha Detoxifying Face Mask: Works well when I’m having a breakout/need to get rid of some grime. ( December 2018—Present)

Laneige Lavender Water Sleeping Mask: Great when I need a little extra moisture. (January 2019—Present)

Glossier Mega Greens Galaxy Pack: Works well to detoxify skin. (November 2015—August 2016)


EYE CREAM

OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Creme: Seems to brighten dark circles. Works well under thicker makeup formulas. A little too heavy under Glossier Stretch Concealer.(February 2018-Present)


BODY

Duke Cannon Supply Co. Bloody Knuckles Hand Repair Balm: The best for dry hands. (December 2017—Present)

Cerave Moisturizing Cream for Normal to Dry Skin: I use this when I get out of the shower and the moisture last for a few days. Big Tub lasts 3-4 months. (December 2019—Present)


HAIR

Ouai Finishing Creme: Like this for moisture and mixing with a texturizing gel. (December 2017)

Amika Perk-Up Talc Free Dry Shampoo: A fave, but a bit pricey. (2016—February 2019)

Batiste Hint of Color Dry Shampoo – Beautiful Brunette: Good for not leaving white residue. (December 2019—Present)

SUPERGOOP! CC Cream Daily Correct Shade Fair to Light: Good for oilier skin. (First purchased January 2016)

Clinique Even Better Foundation SPF 15 in shade CN 08 Linen: Used after recommendation from Clinique employee and then got shade matched at Sephora. Liked that it didn’t feel super heavy at the time in comparison to the KVD Lock-It Foundation I used religiously in college to cover up my cystic acne. (April 2014-January 2016)

It Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ in shade Fair and Light: Obsessed with this for two years. Now it’s a little too heavy for me for a daily wear product. (November 2016—Present)

NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Vanilla: This shade is too light for me but great formula, just a little too drying for me now. Still good when mixed with Glossier Stretch Concealer though. (August 2017—Present)

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30: Not truly a base product, but that was how I used it. Now it’s too white washing for me to wear. (December 2017—Present)

Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Youthful Look 24H Foundation in Light Y210: Worked well for a wedding. Wouldn’t wear everyday as it’s too heavy. (October 2018).

Milk Makeup Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder in Translucent Light: One of the only face powders I like. (October 2018—Present)

SUPERGOOP! Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45: Great as a sunscreen powder reapplication method. (May 2019—Present)

Glossier Stretch Concealer Light (original shade name): Works well. Light and moisturizing. (March 2016—Present)

Glossier Futuredew: Works great as a primer or just for a bit of shine. (October 2019—Present)

Milk Makeup Eye Pigment in Mermaid Parade: Lasts well on my oily lids and has great color payoff. (February 2016—Present)

KVD Vegan Beauty Eyeliner: Stopped using this once I realized how terrible KVD was, but at the time it was the only liquid eyeliner that worked on my oily lids. (2014—January 2017)

NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base: Works well for oily lids. (January 2017–2019)

Milk Makeup Eye Vinyl in Light Rail: Perfect glossy eye product. (March 2017—Present)

Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Ro(Cocoa): Lasts pretty well. love the color. A little pricy for the amount you get. (February 2018—August 2019)

Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color in Terra and Rustique: They don’t last super long but they don’t look weird as they fade. (April 2018—Present)

Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour: Love this to warm up and contour when the base is too light. (December 2017—Present)

Glossier Haloscope in Quartz: I like it but may be too glittery for me now. (November 2017—Present)

Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick in Fierce: Great color. (February 2018—Present)

Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black: Powdery but smoky. Prefer to wear this in the winter. (February 2016—Present)

Tom Ford Tobacco Oud: My ride or die. Perfect smoky fragrance. Will wear this year-round. (April 2016)

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate: Just too heavy of an oil for me, I think. Caused a breakout. (January 2018)

Herbivore Jasmin Green Tea Balancing Toner: Didn’t do anything for me. Not a fan of spray toners. Returned. (February 2018)
